Grade 11 CAS: Junior Project Sharing Session

March 9, 2020

On March 4th, students had their first official CAS class of the new semester online. The main topic was the Junior Project. The class began with an amazing video that showcased the posters of each group. These posters were designed in very creative ways with each group successfully displaying their unique style and topic. As well as an eye-catching appearance, the posters also revealed the hard work and effort each student poured into its making.

Students then moved onto the exciting presentations given by the leaders of each junior project team. The presentations focused on the group’s progress so far and what the next steps are. The variety of topics was marvelous; what was more impressive however, was the passion the students spoke with as they presented in detail about their project. Each group dealt with important issues and topics present in every society, including HIV control, teenage drinking and more. The topics that the groups talked about were all humanitarian in nature and that is exactly what makes these projects so worthwhile. Even though the current situation with the coronavirus has heavily affected the original plans of many projects, it was inspiring to see that students have made the best out of their situation and have come up with a backup plan.

Overall, it was a fulfilling class that allowed students to show their peers how their junior projects are coming along, and it certainly served as a motivation for each student to do their best in their respective projects.
