Grade 9-10: PBL Course -- Summary and Prospects

September 5, 2019

During the PBL class on September 3, 2019, all students of grade 9 and grade 10 listened to the PBL Course Summary and Prospects lecture led by Ms. Chen Lin, the competition instructor, and Mr. Liao Hui, the chief technology instructor. In grade 10, Mr. Liao presented certificates of honor to students who submitted excellent projects in the PBL course of the previous school year. Later on, students began preparing for the new course selection according to this semester’s manual and Mr. Liao's introduction. Next, Ms. Chen Lin, the competition instructor, summarized the achievements made by the students in the competitions last year, introduced several competitions suitable for SHSID students to participate in, and put forward some relevant suggestions for students interested in participating in the competitions and forming associations. They hope students enjoy the new PBL courses and continue to explore their interests and shine in the competitions.

For grade 9 students who just entered high school, Ms. Chen and Mr. Liao presented excellent senior student programs from the past two years, introduced the significance of PBL—which is a brand new course for the ninth graders—and encouraged students to make good use of class time to expand their horizons and interests. This PBL lecture not only allowed students to look back and summarize the past, but also allowed them to look forward towards future academic planning. We hope that freshmen can take this opportunity to discover and stimulate their interests while sophomores can move further towards their academic goals.
