Unveiling Ceremony: Shanghai Jewish Refugee Memorial Becomes SHSID Co-Curricular Program Base

On the afternoon of May 17th, fifteen student representatives from the volunteer club, High School Principal Ma Feng, Principal Assistant Zhang Li, and club adviser Li Yunuo went to the Shanghai Jewish Refugee Memorial in Hongkou to attend the ceremony unveiling the Shanghai Jewish Refugee Memorial as SHSID’s Co-curricular Program Base.

At the ceremony, Principal Ma Feng and the curator of the Shanghai Jewish Refugee Memorial, Chen Jian, delivered speeches to encourage students to continuously improve their humanistic literacy through volunteer activities and gradually enhance their social activities. Principal Ma also said that students should make full use of the resources provided by the museum, study history well, feel the Shanghai spirit of welcoming diversity, and effectively combine their campus learning with community service to develop in an all-around way.

After the ceremony, the leader of the volunteer club, Grade 9 student Alex Bao, and one representative of the volunteer club, Grade 10 student Jack Lee, gave explanations to the Chinese and foreign tourists who were visiting the museum, which were highly praised by the tourists.
