Grade 6: Excellent Math Notes Show

November 1, 2021

Do you think students need to take notes to study math? Some students may think that mathematics is not like history, science, and other subjects which require you to memorize many concepts or events. Math learning focuses on the understanding and application, so taking notes is not as important. Actually, students also need to take notes for their math studies. Good notes will not only help students grasp the key points of learning faster but will also help them understand the internal relationship of knowledge points and help them review. How do you take math notes? Recently, there was an excellent math notes presentation on the third floor of the Zhongxing building, which provided good examples to help students learn the skills of taking math notes.

Through these excellent notes, we can see students use charts and symbols to summarize the main contents, highlight the key points with different colors, and draw lines and marks to show the connection or relations among the concepts. These examples showed the students’ thinking and reflection during the process of math learning.

Good math notes should have these following characters: being clear and easy to read, being easy to understand and follow, not being too wordy, having the key points stand out, being well-structured, easily accessible, and being visually appealing.

Math teachers also provided some note templates and suggested that students use the method of zoning to present the concepts, problems, examples, and summaries. These suggestions are posted in the classrooms of grade 6. We hope that through such displays and guidance, more students can master the method of taking math notes and improving their independent learning ability.
