Grade 1-5: Celebrating the 70th anniversary of China

October 3, 2019

2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. How did SHSID celebrate China’s 70th birthday? Let’s take a look!

Grade 1-3:

On September 30th, teachers from grades 1-3 showed a video about National Day in class. The students sang “My Motherland and Me” along with the video. Some children excitedly exclaimed: "I want to join them too! I want to sing the songs with them!" In addition, the teachers posted a map of China in the corridor. Students could use stickers to show where they had traveled in China. Students also put the stickers of the Chinese flag on their faces and happily took a group photo.

Grade 4-5:

In the early morning of September 30th, the students received colorful notes and wrote their wishes for the 70th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China. They then posted them on the exhibition board. "Long live the 70-year-old China!" "I hope China becomes stronger!" "I love China!" Many students expressed their sincere wishes in direct ways. Other students drew pictures showing China's growth and strength over the past 70 years, and also expressed their love for China. Students from all over the world also wrote in French, Japanese, Korean and other languages, showing China's global friendship.

Through a series of activities, the students shared their love for China and gave their sincere blessings for its 70thanniversary. We hope our students will grow together with China and embrace a more brilliant future!
