Grade 8: Dodge Ball Competition

April 9, 2021

On the afternoon of April 8th, the shining sun had replaced the looming clouds as the 8th-grade students stepped onto the court for the dodgeball competition.

Each class had 20 participants to represent the homeroom. The rules were set; two balls for students to throw; once students are hit by the dodgeball, they can still participate and help their class by staying on the outer blank of the court of their opponents.

The dodgeball competition officially started as the students of 8(2) and 8(3) raced into center court for ball control. All of the students that participated tried their best to dodge balls and win the match. Six teams proceeded to the next round as the students’ shouts and footsteps echoed around the field. The second round started with the buzzing crowd surrounding the court. After another round of exhilarating matches, 8(2), 8(12), and 8(10) competed in a circular tournament for the final round. Beforehand, there was a “teachers versus students” round. The student team consisted of two participants from every class. The teachers stepped confidently onto the court, ready to give the students a “dodgeball lesson.” The match started as everyone’s eyes were concentrating on the court.

The students were in flying form! Before long, the teachers were beaten by the students. As the dodgeball competition entered the final stages, the atmosphere reached the climax.

As the referee placed the ball in the middle of the court, the students were ready for the finals. Three-Two-O. As the last participant in class 8 (12) had been struck out. Class 8(10) were crowned champions, with 8(2) in second place and 8(12) in third place.
