SHSID maintains a top quality, diverse teaching staff by recruiting from: China, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It has the faculty size of 500 currently working on campus, among whom there are more than 140 foreign teachers from the U.S., the U.K., Canada and other countries. More than 60% of the teachers have completed post-graduate education. Teachers have extensive teaching experience and in-depth subject knowledge, staying updated in their professional fields. Each year the teachers attend various seminars and training sessions both at home and abroad for keeping abreast of all new methodologies and sciences of teaching. Now SHSID has over 100 qualified IB or AP teachers, most of which are also IB examiners or AP readers.
