Puxi Campus Grade 1: First Graders Travel Around the World!

April 2, 2021

Our grade 1 students went on a trip around the world this week in Social Studies. This month, the first-grade students have been learning about different cultures from around the world, including shared language, food, clothing, currency, and the flag of a group of people. The students did coin rubbings, created their flags, and even invented their own sports. A highlight of the month was when some of our students’ parents came in to talk about their own culture. The students were very excited and listened intently as they learned about cultures in countries such as Australia, Iran, Canada, etc. We finished off our busy month of culture with our Geo Fair. Each classroom in the first-grade hallway was turned into a different country; with their passports in hand, our students traveled across the world and experienced even more cultures. They made sure to get their passports stamped before they left. The students must be tired after their long journeys!
