On Thursday, March 25th, the SHSID U19 Boys Football Team faced off against KCIS at home in their second league game of the season. The Stallions managed to maintain their positive start with a dominant performance against KCIS following their recent comeback last week. The victory was another step in the right direction for the defending champions as they have their eyes fixed on winning back-to-back league titles.

The Stallions started on the front foot, scoring within a minute of kickoff through some excellent combination play between Tim Kang and Peter Park. After setting the pace of the game through the first goal, the Stallions quickly followed up with another. The second goal came in fortunate fashion, Derec Chen’s throw-in being missed by the opposition goalkeeper and finding its way into the path of Dario Serrano, who finished into an open net. The Stallions kept their foot on the gas, further extending their lead through Billy Park, who finished clinically after a creative piece of skill from Tim Kang saw him through on goal. Dario Serrano scored his second goal of the game late into the first half after the opposition goalkeeper failed to collect a loose through ball, allowing him to gain possession and take the ball around the keeper to score. The fourth goal rounded off a dominant first half display from the home side.

The second half was a continuum of the first, with the Stallions maintaining their ruthless attacking intent and solid defense into the second half. Shortly into the second half, Derec Chen calmly slid the ball into the back of the net after a neat one-two with Eddie Lee, further extending the Stallions’ lead to 5-0. The Stallions ended the game on a high note, with Dario Serrano completing his hat trick, using trickery and quick feet to skip past a challenge before maintaining his composure to slot home the sixth goal of the game.

The game was a testament to the Stallions’ attacking prowess and defensive solidity as they not only were lethal in front of goal, but also maintained their first cleansheet of the season. The win now makes it two wins in two games for the Stallions, and brings the Stallions up to second in the league table, just behind YK PAO on goal difference, but with a game in hand. The Stallions will now face off against JCIS on Monday, March 29th as they strive to propel themselves to the top of the league table.
