Grades 11-12: Club Showcase

March 26, 2021

The energy and liveliness of spring was reflected in the annual SHSID club showcase which involved a diverse group of clubs displaying their activities and achievements.

As the day of the club showcase approaches, several clubs have already begun preparing for club promotion. On March 23rd, Colors Club’s publicity attracted both students and teachers' attention. Usually known for its sweet stories, Colors distributed custom-made napkins during lunch to promote their club in a memorable and unique way.

On the afternoon of March 24th, the selection of star clubs officially began. The students all watched 19 different unique club introduction videos. Participating clubs included the STEM Doge Club which is filled with some of the brightest minds on campus. Their “daily three questions” really keeps the boredom at bay. There was also the Colors Club who used their writing to record colorful moments, adding more vividness to the ordinary things in everyday life. The Comic Music Club showed off their exciting performances and youthful vitality through the sounds of their band. The SHS Birding Club introduced us to the beauty of nature and how they observed and recorded many species of birds in and outside of SHSID. Those were only a tiny selection of the large number of clubs that participated that day.

During the club showcase, students sometimes applauded and cheered for their friends and sometimes admired the achievements of outstanding clubs. However, they soon encountered a problem: how can one possibly choose the best club out of so many outstanding clubs? After pondering for a long time, the students ultimately cast their precious votes.

With spring approaching, why not join a club you are interested in to explore and develop your own potential?
