Puxi Campus: Making New Homes for Our Plants!

March 20, 2021

This week in grade 1 Science, we have been learning all about plants! In anticipation of looking after their seedlings, our students started the week by finding out what a plant needs to survive. The students experimented by placing seeds in different places around the room and giving them multiple things to make them grow. We observed them and found out that they grow best when they have water, air, space, soil, and sunlight. Next, we needed something to plant our seeds in! The previous week, the students learned all about how we can reduce, reuse, and recycle to protect our environment and prevent further pollution. So, we decided to reuse old items as planters! The students were very creative; they brought in yogurt pots, plastic bottles, jars, etc. In our last class, we were finally ready to plant our seeds. We hope they are happy in their new homes, and we can’t wait to watch them grow!
