Grade 11: Experience with A Capella

January 5, 2021

It was another cold Thursday morning on December 31. Eleventh graders gathered in the XMT Annex once again for a weekly Assembly. This time, Yeji Ju from class 11(6) shared her experience with A Cappella with everyone.

As a member of Human Orchestra, Yeji recalled her first impression of A Cappella. At first, she had only encounteredA Cappelladue to her ninth-grade option class, yet, as she got invited by two seniors to join the school’sA Cappellaclub, she began treating music much more seriously. Prior to this, she had not been so concerned about vocal music. Now, with systematic training and interaction with teammates, she has fallen in love withA Cappella. Soon after, she began to talk about her recentA Cappellacompetitions. During the preparation process, she had realized thatA Cappellawas an activity that greatly valued teamwork. Throughout this time, she and her club members had spent a lot of time together practicing their song, whether it was a small detail or the main melody. Receiving second place, the gold award, and the performance award, these competitions also provided them with many opportunities to perform outside of school. Even though it only takes an insignificant reason to begin a new hobby, Yeji’s achievements and opportunities are inseparable with her persistence.

Hopefully, students will begin looking forward to new opportunities to find their hobbies and develop them into their own skills and passion.
