Our ancestors have learned how to use fire since ancient times, creating the history of human civilization. Temperature is closely related to our daily life. We feel the heat and cold of objects and the weather every day. How does the scientific community define everyday events that we are familiar with? To promote the ability of self-study and self-exploration, the students from Grade 8 carried out the exploratory study of Kelvin, the unit of temperature.

During the research process, some groups created posters with some excellent hand-sketched drawings depicting William Kelvin, who was responsible for the development of thermodynamics. Other groups focused on Kelvin’s life experiences, academic achievements, the relationship between Kelvin temperature and commonly used temperature centigrade by creating small but visually appealing information segments. The concept of “absolute zero” was of great interest to many students who had not previously known that such a limit even existed.

During their journey to explore “Kelvin”, students sharpened their research skills by tackling new and challenging topics, improving their ability to observe essential attributes, internal laws, and understand the relationship between things around them from a physics perspective.
