Grade 10: Assembly—Speech from a Student Representative

December 16, 2019

In the morning assembly on December 11th, students were treated to a presentation by Anna about her dancing experience since she was three years old. She separated her dancing life into two parts: inside of school and outside of school.

On the school campus, Anna once prepared her homeroom’s cheerleading dance for the sports meet and is currently getting ready for her two performances during the art festival: one with her club, SPDC, and another one with her friends.

Outside of school, Anna actually is involved in multiple competitions, including Taoli Cup. This will be a huge challenge for the entire SPDC team as it will be their first time attending a formal competition outside of school. Furthermore, Anna has several other performances, including a musical and other club events such as Voices from Beyond and DAC.

During the 12 years of her dancing career, Anna was able to study multiple styles of dance that include ballet, Chinese traditional dancing, jazz, hip hop, and urban dancing. Currently, Anna is interested in contemporary dancing and is planning to study that in the near future.

Lastly, Anna talked about how she is probably just going to treat dancing as her hobby, not as her future career path. Not only is Anna able to improve her dancing skills through this long but fun process, she is also making joyful memories along the way. We hope that after listening to her speech, more and more students can share their experiences or their hobbies and how they enhance their lives.
