Grade 12: Senior Assembly ---- Adventurous Journey

December 3, 2019

On Nov 28th, five students from 12(2) and 12(3) discussed the expedition program Adventurous Journey (AJ), which they participated in last summer. First, they briefly spoke about what the Duke of Edinburgh's Award is. Then, they elaborated on their experiences in AJ and preparations they made before undertaking both the practice journey and the formal adventurous journey, which included designing the route card and activity plan, deciding team goals and rules, preparing food, gears and so on. At last, they played a 5-minute video of their journey that showed local archeological features, interesting moments, and their strong team spirit. Their experience in AJ was joyful, and it developed their leadership, cooperation, and organization skills. It seems their presentation encouraged some junior students to also participate in meaningful outdoor activities.
