Grade 4-5: Storytelling Cpmpetition

November 29, 2019

The fourth and fifth grades storytelling competition came to an end this past Thursday in the primary school auditorium. The competition was a lot of fun and was entertaining for all that attended. The storytelling competition was a great way to promote and encourage the students to grow in their public speaking ability. The art of storytelling is a great way to grow in speaking skills.

The competition enabled the students to grow in their confidence of English writing, creativity, and public speaking skills. In the first round of the competition the students wrote their own stories and shared them with their class. In the second round the chosen class winners told their stories once again and further gained confidence in their storytelling ability. In the final round the students delivered a 3-4-minute story on stage as their fellow fourth-grade classmates watched. All of the students had different storytelling styles and were very creative in the delivery of their stories. The skilled storytellers and their classmates all enjoyed their impressive work.

All of the students had different storytelling styles. They were all inspired to give scary stories and so many of them had clever plot twists and gave the students much suspense during the presentations.

Many of the students have been inspired by this event and are already looking forward to next year’s storytelling competition!
