The beautiful city of Hamburg, Germany has more to offer than hamburger puns and its grand network of waterways and canals. In the five days between November 15 and 19, 46 debate teams competed in the prestigious 23rd EurOpen 2019. EurOpen attracted strong teams from Germany locally and the national debate teams of countries and regions like Canada, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Czech Republic, USA, Slovenia, Argentina, Mexico, Italy, etc.

Lelan Hu from grade 12 attended EurOpen 2019. After 8 preliminary rounds breaking into octofinals, she won as champion with her three teammates in a tight Grandfinals debate on the motion “This House regrets the reunification of Germany”. Congratulations to Lelan!
