Grade 9-10: Blackout

November 20, 2019

On Nov 15, ASB members from ninth and tenth grade held the annual Blackout Halloween event, which allows students to have fun and relax after their midterm exams. The theme for Blackout this year was the “dollhouse.”

ASB members took advantage of the good environment in the ZhenTao Building and created a scary, spooky atmosphere. Blackout lasted for more than three hours. During this period, students enjoyed a variety of scary and interesting activities. On the first floor, there were scary games, movie rooms, challenge rooms, photo booths, and many other innovative activities. The basement of the ZhenTao Building was the highlight of Blackout—the haunted house. The ASB spent a week perfecting this fantastic haunted house experience. After taking the elevator to the basement of the ZhenTao Building, a gust of cool breeze blew on students’ faces and horrible music greeted them. Wearing heavy makeup and sitting on a rocking chair was the ghost mother, while puppets wearing masks were sitting on the table, and the walking dead were frightening students. Students were placed into an atmosphere of horror: some people screamed, some tried to escape as fast as possible without turning their heads around, some even panicked in tears...

This Blackout event was a complete success. We would like to thank the students in the ASB for preparing such a creative and wonderful activity.
