Pudong Grade 4: Lotus Lantern

March 31, 2019

During the CAS class on March 28th, the 4th graders of SHSID Pudong campus made elegant and meaningful Lotus Lanterns with the help of their teachers. In their recent Geography classes, the grade 4 students have been learning about East Asian culture. After learning the fact that the lotus is not only the national flower of India and Vietnam, but also the symbol of Hinduism and Buddhism, the students couldn’t wait to make lotus lanterns with their teachers. With guidance from the homeroom teachers of grade 4, the kids made their lanterns step by step and helped each other with the difficult parts. Finally, they displayed their “art work” with satisfaction. Not only did the students have great fun during the activity, but also reviewed what they learned in Geography class. What a meaningful day!
