Grade 9: Innovation Lecture

April 1, 2019

During the afternoon of Thursday, March 28th, all Grade 9 students gathered in the Xianmian Auditorium to listen to a lecture about innovation. Thanks to this lecture, the students and teachers had an opportunity to speak with Ami Dror, the founder & CEO of Leapleamer and the co-founder of Zaitoun Ventures.

Ami Dror is an Israeli motivational speaker, and he is passionate about innovation and public service. For this occasion, he came to our school to talk about his life's career path. Ami started his career as a Captain in the Israeli Secret Service and a diplomat in Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After he quit working for the government, he went on to pursue 3D technology, which later led him to write a book about peace in work. After talking about his career as the head of security, creator of 3D cinema displays, and a writer, Ami talked about innovation and courage, or in Hebrew "Chutzpah". Ami said, "sometimes you need a little bit of chaos, because that forces you to be innovative". When he finished his lecture, the audience asked him for advice about their futures. In conclusion, Ami Dror's inspiring talk about pursuing his dreams may have influenced some people to pursue their dreams of becoming a dancer, an actress, or even a scientist.
