High School Colorful Campus Life-Noontime Music Corner

April 17, 2019

Music Corner is a Music performance activity held in the Annex of the XianMian Building every Friday from 12:30 to 13:00. Music Corner contains different kinds of student musical performances such as student instrumental band performances, singing, etc. Among these activities, “Masked Singer” was the most popular one last year. Every Friday, four or five students sang for others while wearing a black robe and mask. After all the singers have finished, the audience will vote for the voice that they are most curious about.

During the lunch break on Friday, music flowed out from the open doors of the Xianmian Building Annex. A region of the lobby was transformed into a music corner, where Daniel Xue, Steve Wang, and Thomas Wu, staged a performance with several other SHSID seniors. At 12:40, the soft tune of the cello began the performance. Soon, the lobby was permeated by the boys’ sonorous voices and the majestic melodies of the cello. This short yet vibrant performance managed to provide a soothing atmosphere for the students and alleviated some of the dawning pressures of the upcoming exam week.
