During the lunch break on May 21, Mr. Zhao Qiwei, who teaches Physics at SHS and Math at SHSID, gave a lecture to the 9th graders. Mr. Zhao started with an introduction to horizontal projectiles. He then explained the equations in the context of conic sections learned in Analytical Geometry. Finally, the content was extended to the orbit of the satellites and planets. The interdisciplinary lecture ended with applause. This lecture offered a great opportunity for the students to learn some Physics and recognize the important role that Math plays in analyzing Physics problems.
