Pudong Grade 1: World Village

May 24, 2019

In the grade one Social Studies class, students have been learning about how different cultures define the word “citizenship”. As members of this global village, students constantly confront different cultures in their lives— especially students at SHSID. In order to broaden students’ horizons, as well as to raise their culture awareness, one of the German parents from grade one was invited to speak about their unique culture. The parents prepared fun quizzes and famous German food for the lecture, and our students loved it! Every student listened attentively to the introduction of another charming country. The parents were amazed at how much knowledge our students already had about different cultures around the world. We hope that this opportunity brings wider diversity into our school and helps students become better global citizens.
