Since 1993, SHSID has enrolled students from over 60 countries and regions. Students of different language and culture background gather here to create a unique and mixed campus life. Apart from Chinese and English as compulsory language courses offered at the school, other Multilanguage courses are also set as optional courses in different grades. Since 2014, World Languages Courses, including French, Japanese, Spanish, German, Korean etc. were set as selective courses in Grade 11 to 12.

N languages of I Love SHSID

Before 2019 MIX Day, SHSID students made a video called N languages of I  love SHSID, in which several language representatives sent their appreciation to the school and presented the Multilanguage campus life.

It is the first year that World Languages group participated in the MIX Day. Multilingual performances were presented in the XMT Annex. Shows included a band performing Japanese songs, a Spanish singing of “Recuerdame”, and the French opera, Le Rouge et le Noir.
