Puxi Grade 2: Students Explored More About Coding in Apple Store

June 6, 2019

In this semester’s computer classes, Puxi second graders learned how to code with Swift Playground. Using their codes to control their target character, they finally finished every task in the app. They had lots of fun in the learning process.

On June 5, students went to the Apple store in Qibao Wanke and for a practical coding learning session. Teachers in the Apple Store warmly welcomed our students. First, they played with the Sphero ball to get familiar with the coding tools. Students were then divided into groups to complete a teamwork activity in which they were asked to use coding to control the Sphero ball and command it to make certain movements. The students were very creative and used the codes to turn the ball around, move it forwards and backwards, change its color, and so on. Some groups were very active and presented their work to the class, winning lots of applause.

Through this learning process, students applied their coding knowledge into real practice. They also moved from 2-dimensional to 3-dimensional coding. We hope they will explore more about the fun of coding in the future!
