Middle School Physics Department: Mind Map Project on Chapter 9

June 7, 2021

Last week, students from Grade 8 S-level had a mindmap project on chapter 9, “Heat and Energy.” Heat transfer is the basic knowledge of mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and biological engineering. It is also the basis for understanding internal combustion engines, air conditioning, heating systems, chemical and bioreactors, and even clothing technology design. The design of insulation materials for homes, buildings, and even beverage containers also require an understanding of heat transfer. In Chapter 9, starting from the definition of heat as energy, students learned how heat exists in everyday life and the three ways of heat transfer—conduction, convection, and radiation, and the connection between heat and temperature.
