Middle School Biology Department: Animal and Medical Science

June 3, 2021

7th graders recently used mice in their experiments in Biology Workshop—Animal and Medical Science. First, they learned the proper handling and restraint of mice. Then they carried out a maze test: the Morris water maze test, to test spatial memory and long-term memory. On June 1st, they learned the techniques of intravenous tail injections. First, the mouse was placed inside a restraint device. Then they identified the tail vein and gently inserted a needle into it. Those who did it successfully were very excited. They are very eager to learn the next technique—mice surgery!
