May 31, 2021

During morning Assembly on May 26th, Sarah from Class 10(8) shared her experience of studying linguistics. She started linguistics at the beginning of tenth grade, and after a few club sessions, she discovered that she has a huge interest towards linguistics. After deciding to go deeper into linguistics, Sarah participated in the International Linguistics Olympiad winter camp. The winter camp continued for five days. Every morning she took classes, and then took mock tests in the afternoon. Every evening, the students and teachers would reflect upon the mock test. After these days, Sarah enhanced her knowledge and improved her performance, which allowed her to excel in the final exam and enter the final round of IOL. A few months later, she then participated in the Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad, a test that lasts five hours. This great experience further enriched her knowledge.

Sarah will be continuing her linguistics work in the following semester, and she wishes to learn more and perform better in future competitions.
