Grade 9: Dodgeball Competition

April 12, 2021

On April 7th, the ninth-grade classes spent their afternoon CAS class spectating and participating in the dodgeball competition. All the students gathered at the grassland area in front of the Zhentao Building, where members from the ASB had set up the courts for the competition to take place.

Right from the beginning, the games were extremely intense as all teams were eager to see how far they could go in the tournament. After the first rounds, 9(3), 9(11), 9(8), and 9(4) advanced to the quarterfinals while 9(12) and 9(5) were given free passes to the semis. 9(3) and 9(8) joined the latter two classes for a fierce round of semifinals. Following some ardent competition, 9(3) and 9(8) came out on top in their respective games, so the two classes advanced to the finals.

It was announced that the champions would be decided by whoever won two out of three games in the final round. As the game began, more and more spectators gathered around the field to watch the entertaining finals. Round one was finished with a hard-fought win by 9(3). Everyone there could just feel the tension across the field as both teams were nervous about what was at stake. Prompted by the starting win, 9(3) kept up their winning streak and won the second game, ending the finals. Nevertheless, all the teams put in a strong effort, and the whole grade certainly saw some impressive throws, skilled catches, and dexterous dodges today!

Special thanks to ASB for hosting this fun event!
