SHSID Students Won the National Championship in the Envirothon 2020-2021 Competition

April 12, 2021

Envirothon is a global science-and-engineering project aimed at cultivating the environmental awareness of high-school students. The competition is divided into four modules: water-resource, forest-resource, soil-resource, and wildlife-resource protection. The Envirothon 2020-2021 Competition was successfully held from April 3 to 5, attracting outstanding students from high schools all across China. For this year, the competition was held offline at Fudan University, and ten students from Grades 9, 10, and 11 at SHSID formed two teams to participate in the competition. After three days of intense competition, they achieved excellent results.

Envirothon is divided into two parts, namely academic testing and case studies, covering the four subject disciplines of the event and solving a representative environmental problem. During the weeks before the competition, with the guidance and help of Ms. Cui and Ms. Zeng, the students of the two teams had a deep understanding of the content and case questions covered by the competition and made comprehensive preparations. After lengthy preparation, intense examination, and detailed analysis of the case, both teams won the national championship of Group A and Group B and qualified for the global tournament. Congratulations to all these students for maintaining SHSID’s achievement with Envirothon!
