Week 7 is our Chinese Culture Week. During the PG class on Apr. 9th, Grade 5 students of the Pudong campus went out to the playground and found many curious objects in front of them. Only after the teachers explained did they realized that these were the old-fashioned toys that were extremely popular during their parents’ childhood. They were diabolos, rolling hoops, and shuttlecocks. After teachers taught them how to play these games, students were arranged into three groups and rotated to play. Although these games are unfamiliar to our students, everyone showed great interest and practiced their skills enthusiastically. Some even beat the teachers! Through such kind of activity, our students not only enjoyed fun of old-fashioned games but also got to appreciate the traditional Chinese culture.
