Grade 7: Combining Education with Entertainment

March 25, 2021

Leadership & Empathy, to help teenagers understand and get close to this clichéd yet significant vocabulary, requires careful planning and guidance from educators. In the YD class on the afternoon of March 18th and 25th, 7th graders engraved the words “Leadership” & “Compassion” in their hearts in various entertaining team games.

The jigsaw puzzle requires a four-person team to quickly divvy up the work, a couple of people do the puzzle, some people look for the missing cards of the group and put together the entire story as quickly as possible. In the “You Draw, I Guess” game, you also need group cooperation. This task-oriented game is full of fun, and the students even practiced the entire teamwork process without knowing it.

Taking perspective means the ability to see a situation from another person’s point of view. Students were given a card with a situation written on it. They are required to consider the situation from the perspective of different people. For example, if you are a principal, how would you feel if there was a power outage in the teaching building? In the “Walking in Other People’s Shoes” game, students switched personal papers with each other and thought about how this person feels and how it relates to their feelings.

We believe that the seeds of these beautiful qualities have been planted in the hearts of our students. We hope these words will accompany the students during colorful days.
