Pudong Campus Grades 1–5: Book Recommendations

October 27, 2020

Research shows that students who read frequently and widely are higher achievers than students who read rarely and narrowly. The best way for students to become better readers is to read! Reading more helps add to vocabulary, increase fluency, and improve comprehension! However, some students have a hard time finding books that interest them or exploring new genres to broaden their knowledge base. In order to encourage students to be stronger readers, on Oct. 27th the teachers at Pudong campus held a book recommendation session for students from Grades 1 to 3.

First, Ms. Ren talked about the rules and proper behaviors in the library. After that, our homeroom teachers introduced their favorite books to the audience. From books on traditional Chinese culture to bestselling English novels, a wide range of books was recommended to everyone. This activity offered a valuable opportunity for the students to share their reading experiences and explore more genres. Now the students can’t wait to go to the library!
