Safety First - Chemistry Lab Safety Education

October 29, 2019

In the sixth to eighth week of the semester, the Chemistry Lab Safety Education class was held in each chemistry class in the 9th grade, giving students a comprehensive understanding of the chemical laboratory safety rules and basic operations. The 9th graders have just started studying chemistry this year and will do a variety of experiments in the next few school years. It is very important for them to take the three classes in laboratory safety learning. The series of safety education courses include the following content:

(1) Learning laboratory safety rules, basic laboratory operations, and signing the safety rules agreement

(2) Watching the videos about laboratory safety rules and emergency plans

(3) Identifying inappropriate lab operations through multimedia games

(4) Completing the lab safety rules quiz on the Blackboard system

(5) Learning the names and uses of commonly used chemical instruments

(6) Entering the laboratory to become familiar with the operation of basic instruments: preparing solutions, using a Bunsen burner, mixing solutions in a test tube, and cleaning up the bench

We hope all the students can safely and happily explore the chemical world in the laboratory.
