Puxi Grade 1: Glow Day

October 28, 2022

A busy and stressful week has begun. This week, first-year students at Puxi campus are preparing for their midterm activities. They used games to review vocabulary and Sparkle to help remember spelling words. At the same time, during a full week of study life, students ushered in a special day.

Unlike the bright halls of the past, the hallway of the first grade this Thursday was dark, and the Halloween decorations rendered a mysterious atmosphere. The classroom was also pitch-dark, but indeed a different world. Everyone seemed to enter a science fiction world. All the white fluorescent decorations in the classroom were flashing brightly and every child was also shining. Fluorescent festivals brought a lot of fun to review activities and kept them in the Halloween spirit. Black lights, glow sticks and invisible ink pens all helped keep the energetic first-grade students engaged and have a fun filled review that they will never forget. Answers to questions glowed under the black light, lights flashing on their fingers helped them read spooky Halloween books and an interactive glowing ping pong ball activity helped students review important concepts that they have learned.

Not only were the students’ papers GLOWING brightly, but we also believe that all the students in first grade will all have a GLOWING future here at SHSID.
