Pudong Campus Grade 1: Chinese Tongue Twister

November 14, 2022

In order to stimulate students’ learning initiative, on Friday, November 11, all grade one students at SHSID Pudong Campus participated in an interesting Chinese tongue twister competition. This tongue twister competition consisted of two parts: the first round and the final round. During Chinese class on Monday, the first graders competed in their own classes to select the top six fast and good tongue twisters to enter the final round. So, when the bell rang on Friday, the 12 first-round winners were ready to go. When the host clicked the timer, students took one minute to read as many tongue twisters as possible correctly. As the competition started, all the audience turned quiet at once, appreciating the great performance and cheered for their classmates.

After a fierce competition, Claire from class 1 (1) and Yuki from class 1(2) won the first place with an excellent score of reading 10 tongue twisters in one minute. There were also two second prize winners and three third prize winners in each class. Through this fun-filled competition, students not only trained their spelling skills, but also had fun and increased their interest in learning Chinese.
