History and Geography Department: “Build Your Own Town/City” In-Class Activities

November 23, 2022

The 10th-grade History students are studying the Industrial Revolution this month. For the past two weeks, teachers have been organizing activities in class based on the idea of “Building Your Own Town” and “Building Your Own City”, based on their understandings of the origins and processes of the First Industrial Revolution and the achievements of the Second Industrial Revolution. Students were encouraged to experience and analyze the impact of the two industrial revolutions on the people of the time through "hands-on" designs and constructions of towns and cities before and after the Industrial Revolution. The simulations created a sense of experience for the students, stimulated their creativity, and enhanced their ability to apply and reflect on their knowledge.
