2024 High School "Lunch with the Principal" Event | Listen to the Heart, Discuss About Tomorrow

April 26, 2024

Recently, two distinctive "Lunch with the Principal" events were held in Xianmian Building. Hosted by the High School Principal of SHSID, Mr. Ma Feng, student representatives from all four grades were randomly selected to join the principal for lunch, engaging in conversations about various aspects of campus life and personal growth.

During the luncheon on April 23, the atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful. Students from grades 11 and 12 actively participated, sharing their perspectives on academic challenges, time management, personal interests, and future plans. Principal Ma Feng attentively listened to each student's thoughts, offering tailored advice and guidance. Addressing the time management concerns raised by many 11th-grade students, Principal Ma suggested adjusting study rhythms and lifestyles, reducing electronic distractions, and ensuring adequate rest for efficient learning. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of personal learning experiences, encouraging students to fully utilize campus resources, actively engage in self-improvement, and achieve comprehensive development.

During the luncheon on April 25, students from grades 9 and 10 actively discussed topics such as discovering personal interests and coping with psychological pressure. Principal Ma Feng provided advice based on attentive listening, encouraging students to value the consolidation of foundational knowledge, gradually grow, and courageously explore, avoiding prematurely limiting their developmental possibilities. He also suggested that students could appropriately "subtract" activities, focusing their energy on their interests and strengths to achieve more efficient development. For 9th-grade student Zhang, who perseveres in water polo training, Principal Ma offered special encouragement, hoping he would continue to excel in sports and add more brilliant possibilities to his future.

Both luncheons coincidentally touched upon the theme of "life planning". Principal Ma, using the metaphor of a lifelong race, encouraged students to maintain patience and confidence, calmly facing future challenges. This event not only facilitated communication among students but also helped them clarify their learning goals and future plans, enabling them to embrace various challenges and achieve broader development prospects.
