High School Sports Week Lunch-Time Carnival Day One

October 12, 2021

This year, the school’s track and field were dismantled in order to construct a new building, but we are continuing to hold sports events and activities. To ensure a healthy school morale, the Sports Carnival activities were introduced. On the days of the 11th to 13th of October, various sports-related activities were held for all high-school students to participate in. Today, during the lunch break from 12:15 P.M. to 1:00 P.M., tables and booths were set up right outside the Zhentao Building. Students freely interacted and participated in these different events to earn prizes.

There are going to be three different activities each day along with a trivia section. Activities for Monday were ping pong, arm wrestling, and kendama. These activities were designed to be simple yet compelling, allowing everyone to take part. For example, for ping pong, students were asked to aim and hit the ball into cups in order to win. For kendama, which is a traditional Japanese skill toy quite popular among youngsters, students chose from a list of 4 types of tricks and received rewards upon completion. Everyone was engaged and immersed into winning these games and happily participated in these events. The students were all passionate and eager in the process as they attempted to win. In the trivia section, students employed their knowledge on all kinds of sports to win prizes.

Overall, the Sports Carnival set the foundation for SHSID’s Sports Week and greatly freshened the students’ lunch time. We are all looking forward to the exciting activities in the next few days!
