Grade 10: Interactive Magic Performance

September 29, 2021

On the morning of September 26th, the sophomores attended their weekly assembly at the Zhentao Building lecture hall. This week’s presentation was given by Ray from tenth grade, and he shared his love of magic with the entire student body.

Ray began by first talking briefly about his experiences with learning magic. He discussed how an academy course teaching magic was introduced last semester, and it helped foster his interest in the subject. Ray told everyone how he started spending a great amount of his time studying tricks and learning about the art of magic. He brought up simple card tricks and techniques, introducing them to students in the audience.

Ray then performed a magic trick for everyone. He asked Ms. Gu to be his volunteer and choose two random cards from a full deck. In the end, he was able to successfully decipher what card Ms. Gu had chosen, impressing the audience and receiving cheers from the crowd.

Overall, Ray’s presentation was quite unique as an interactive performance had never been done before during a student assembly.
