Grade 11 Assembly: Awarding Ceremony

September 13, 2021

On the morning of September 9th, the 11th graders gathered in the Xianmian Auditorium for a special morning assembly. In the assembly, high-achieving clubs (referred to as Star Clubs) in the past academic year were rewarded, along with individual outstanding awards.

Star clubs are clubs that made outstanding achievements in the 2020-2021 academic school year, including activities both in school and outside of school. The 5-star clubs are Village Radio and ECOCAP, while C++ Programming Club, Blue Balloon, and the Ultimate Science Club also won awards.

The assembly then moved on to reward outstanding students in different categories. The “Good Behavior Awards” and “Rapid Study Progress Awards” were handed out first, with top performing students in each respective category earning a certificate. Afterwards, “Physical Exercise Awards” were given to students who were recommended by their PE teachers in particular sports. Subject study awards came after; the top students in the subjects of English, Math, History, Chemistry, Art, Physics, and Economics were awarded with the corresponding prize. The social activity and academic achievement scholarships were passed out at the end of the ceremony. Students were able to apply to these scholarships by highlighting their extracurricular activities and academic performance.

At the end of the assembly, Fiona and Elaine introduced to the grade their project called Bloom, where a wall was designated in Zhentao Building for students to write notes on with colored sticky notes.

This assembly marked an introduction to the new school year, as students enter a new phase of high-school learning. The ceremony also acted as a reminder to continue working hard and doing the things everyone enjoys, as the school will take note of the interests and passions of its students.
