Pudong Campus Grades 1-4: Welcome Letters

September 8, 2021

On Friday of the first week of this new school year, every student from grade one to grade four at SHSID Pudong campus participated in a special activity to connect as a school community.

In the morning, the second graders came into the new first graders’ classrooms and read the welcome letters with them in pairs. They shared their learning experience and remarkable moments in grade one. The first graders were all excited about their new school life at SHSID. Meanwhile, the fourth grade students also read letters with their buddies in grade three, which helped their them feel relaxed about being new third graders.

Then, during the PG (Personal Growth) class in the afternoon, their roles switched! Grade two students received the warmth from grade three students by hearing their stories about their second grade experiences. They asked their old “sisters” and “brothers” a lot of questions, such as “What’s your favorite activity?”, “Is there more homework in G2?”, and more! Everybody was happy to share with each other and really enjoyed their time together!

Through this activity, the students not only felt more connected with their fellow students and the school, but also had a vision of their new school life. Everybody was looking forward to having a wonderful semester!
