“My University”----- not just a presentation

As the competition is high all the time and outstanding grades no longer guarantee acceptance, students are facing tough admission committees today.America’s colleges and universities are far too crowded, which causes a percentage of rejection far greater than that of acceptance, as much as 90% at some schools. As a result, the first issue to be addressed is how to make the school of your choice choose you. Preparing early greatly increases a student’s chance of being admitted. It becomes necessary to understand the background and history of the colleges, know what the colleges are looking for, and explore how they determine if a student will win a precious admission ticket.

The presentation of “My University” began from 03/01/2012 in grade 9. Every student in each class should give a presentation about the university he would like to choose in the future. A detailed PowerPoint is also required to show the background, history, and other important information of the presented University. Every morning, wonderful and full-of-passion speeches are given by students in each class of grade 9. The universities and colleges they talk about are various, including Harvard University, Stanford University, Dartmouth College, Columbia University and others. However, the points in common are that the students chose the universities they prefer, they looked into the universities and prepared very well before the presentation, and stated why they prefer to attend the university. Some students said that this was actually the first time they realize they must start to fight for college. To ensure students have every possible advantage when applying to the college of their choice, the presentation of “My University” is not just a presentation, but an early preparation for the college and an important step in the journey to success. Moreover, the presentations offer a wide array of information and valuable resources that both students and teachers should be aware of.

In the way to college, a student challenges himself and heads to a world with difficulties and expectations.
