Chinese Debate Club

SHSID Debate Community was founded in September 2020, aiming to leverage the unique strengths of Chinese international students in logic, perspective, and thinking patterns. Our Chinese Debate Competition Team was formed by club members in March 2021. In past competitions, we have achieved outstanding results, including winning the global championship, placing fourth in Asia, and winning the national championship. Currently, we are ranked fourth on the global high school Chinese debate rankings. Within the Debate Community, we provide students with ample time each semester to learn debate techniques and practice through mock debate. Outside the club, we actively organize debate-related events such as Physics Day and Mix Day debate with the school. During the summer of 2024, we also collaborated with the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum to host a national Chinese debate competition, fostering critical thinking skills while gaining inspiration and enjoyment.
