龙吟社

龙吟社was established in 2016 that aspires to promote traditional Chinese culture. It actively participates in the school's Art Festival and "World Culture Day"--MIXDAY, in which 龙吟社had undertaken "World Culture Day" special performance from since it was established. Its diverse and colorful performances have garnered much applause and admiration, including but not limited to Chinese classical dance, traditional songs, performances of Chinese ethnic instruments, and Chinese martial arts. For instance, at the school MIX DAY in June 2024, Longyin presented a one-hour special performance themed "Mythology," featuring a variety of captivating programs that filled the venue to capacity. In October 2023 and 2024, Longyin was invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the school sports meeting, stunning the audience with "大梦敦煌" and "百舞惊鸿." Additionally, in 2021, Longyin’s performance "The Begonia Does Not Spare the Rouge" won the first prize in the "Chinese Culture Shanghai Foreign Children’s Schools Traditional Culture Tour" in Shanghai, and the program was also featured on the Official Shanghai Television.


Longyin promotes traditional Chinese culture not only through stage performances. At Charity Fair in 2024, the society's handmade "traditional lacquer fans" sold exceptionally well, sparking interest in Chinese culture among many buyers. On the official WeChat account, members continuously publish popular science articles about Chinese culture and original literary works created by students to attract more attention to Chinese culture, such as the 2023 article on "The Twenty-Four Solar Terms of China." Over the past eight years since its establishment, Longyin has repeatedly been recognized as a star-level club at the school. This society, based on traditional Chinese culture, is unique to the high school section of our international department. Today, Longyin will continue to refine and present better performances and will keep publishing interesting new articles on its WeChat account to promote traditional Chinese culture.
