Floorball Club

Floorball is a type of indoor field hockey played with hollow plastic sticks & balls. SHSID Floorball Club is an athletic club providing chances for students to learn and enjoy a completely new sport and make fantastic friends with the same hobby. As a collaborative team, we meet twice every week after school, where members will learn basic skills, such as controlling, passing, and shooting the ball, along with advanced tactics used in real-match situations. We also have additional public training outside of school for those who really want to excel in the sport. Throughout the year, there will be numerous tournaments and friendly matches to participate.


Our club serves as an alternative option for students of different grades, currently ranging from 8 to 12, to interact and exercise despite the traditional varsities provided by our school. We aim to build a strong team to compete in city-level and nation-level tournaments, and finally develop into an official school team, fostering a sense of team cooperation whilst gaining metals and enjoying the essence of the thrilling sport itself.


Some considerable achievements that our club has attained so far include placing second twice at the National Tournament for the U15 club group (both as a joint team with the Vikings Club); a few third places in the SHFA-held adults tournaments; fourth place in the National Tournament Shanghai U18 age group on January 28th, 2024; and the sixth place in the Oriental Cup Floorball League 2024, which is the most formal adult league in China held annually by AOFC, or the Asia and Oceania Floorball Confederation, spanning from late February to early July. During the process, we had a chance to confront prominent Universities including SUS (Shanghai University of Sports), DHU (Donghua University), SISU (Shanghai International Studies University), USST (University of Shanghai for Science and Technology), SIT (Shanghai Institute of Tourism), and also team Mars, which is the best adults’ team in China, consisting mostly of national team players.
