Puxi G7 |YD Education - The Debate of AI on the Development of Human Thinking Skills

December 3, 2024

With the rapid development of science and technology, AI has gradually penetrated every aspect of our lives and profoundly impacted people's way of thinking. To help students better understand the pros and cons of AI, G7 teachers utilized the morning P&B classes and Thursday's YD class to organize a class debate, aiming to help students understand the impact of AI on human thinking through brainstorming.

In the YD class, students had a heated discussion about the pros and cons of AI on the development of human thinking. On the one hand, they believe the introduction of AI technology provides students with rich information resources and convenient learning tools, which help broaden their knowledge and improve learning efficiency. At the same time, AI can help students quickly identify and solve problems while stimulating their innovative spirit and creativity.

On the other hand, students also pointed out the possible negative impacts of AI technology. Over-reliance on AI may degrade thinking skills and limit the development of imagination and creativity. In addition, difficulties in moral and ethical judgment concerning AI may also negatively affect students. Therefore, students argued that they need to be vigilant when using AI technology to avoid falling into blind dependence.

During the discussion, students also provided insights on how to use AI technology rationally. This activity not only deepened students' understanding of AI technology but also stimulated their thinking abilities and innovative spirit. Teachers encouraged the students to continue paying attention to technology trends, actively learning new knowledge and skills, and contributing to the future development of science and technology.

In the future, Grade 7 teachers will continue to actively organize similar symposium activities to provide students with more learning opportunities and communication platforms and to promote their holistic development and healthy growth.
