Grade 10 Economics Class Project Presentation Held

December 30, 2024

On December 27, the semester research projects were presented in the 10th grade economics class. The students conducted in-depth research on trending issues in the global economy in small groups, integrating theory and practice.

One group analyzed how the online streaming industry affects the survival space of traditional theaters through competition by comparing the pricing and competitive strategies of Netflix and Disney+. Another group focused on how Chinese EV brands can gain a competitive advantage in the international market, while others focused on the pros and cons of antitrust policies as Google and Apple have been repeatedly fined for monopolistic practices.

Combining empirical data, graph analysis, and economic theory, they presented their research results from different perspectives. From data collection and questionnaire design to data analysis and PPT production, the students had a clear division of labor and worked closely together. They not only used the economic models and theories they learned in class, but also took the initiative to consult a large number of relevant literature and the latest data, exercised and improved their academic ability, and also demonstrated innovative thinking and oral expression skills.

The original intention of the project is to encourage students to pay attention to real-life application, and deepen their understanding of economics. From research to presentation, students not only deepened their understanding of the core concepts of economics, but also developed teamwork, critical thinking, and self-expression skills. The economics classroom should not only learn theories, but also be a stage for students to analyze and think and explore practical problems, and the teachers of the social sciences department will continue to innovate teaching methods and activities in the future to further promote the improvement of students' comprehensive ability.
