Mock Trial Activity in Its Full Swing at SHSID

In 2024, mock trial activity was carried out in and outside classrooms at SHSID.

In the classrooms, combined with the Introduction to Law course, students had a deeper understanding of legal principles and dispute resolution process through adversarial court hearings which were based on the careful reading of classic cases under the guidance of teachers. In club activities, students with specialized interests have a more systematic understanding and training of mock trial in the form of weekly after-school activities. The core team members invested hundreds of hours in collective online/offline meetings to prepare for competitions, and their abilities have been greatly improved. The club has won the first place in various mock trial competitions, such as PPMT and International Mock Trial. Even the rookie teams also placed themselves among the top five and top eight in the International Mock Trial competition. One member of the club also qualified to take part in the world's top Empire Stardust 2024 event.

In the new year of 2025, the Intro to Law course and the Mock Trial Club will keep serving as a platform for students interested in law and debate at SHSID.
