Puxi Campus Grade 8: Service Learning Reflection
At the start of 2025, the eighth-grade students gathered in the Hsi Auditorium to listen to the exciting presentation focused on the sharing of the Service-Learning groups. At Shanghai High School International Division, eighth graders focus on Service-Learning Programs and hope to use efforts to participate in charity and use their own strengths within the community.
During this semester's service-learning experience, students have encountered beyond traditional notion of simple mutual aid. The service-learning programs aim to encourage students to apply what they have learned in class to real-world social practices while serving and assisting others. Through their efforts, students have achieved numerous accomplishments—such as organizing charity sales and pop-up performances. These volunteer opportunities helped students gain a deeper appreciation for the value of social services. Moreover, students have come to understand the importance of independent problem-solving, applying their academic knowledge along with personal insights to address societal challenges. Continuous reflection and summation after tackling practical issues have led each participant to achieve personal growth and development. This experience has expanded every student's understanding of the significance of social responsibility, laying a robust foundation for their future studies and lives.
On the afternoon of January 2nd, various service-learning groups met together to share what they did this semester. They shared with other students and teachers about their efforts this semester and won the praise of their peers.
The sharing included a total of 29 service-learning groups, and at the end of all the group presentations, the following groups stood out and received Gold and Silver Standard honors, as rated by a vote from the entire 8th grade teachers and students:

Warmest congratulations to the service-learning groups that have received the gold and silver honors! This recognition not only signifies the high regard for their hard work from the teachers but also represents a collective affirmation by the students of each other's efforts. It is hoped that these honors will inspire all members to strive for even greater achievements, continuing to embody the spirit of service in the semester ahead by organizing more activities rich in significance and value, thereby infusing new vitality into campus and community.
